700c Road Disc/CX RX-55 Wheels (22mm internal width)

Introducing the RX Road & Cross series RX55 Wheels. Tubeless ready and disc only, we transferred all the knowledge from our mountain carbon rims to develop the multi functional and bombproof RX series carbon rims.
 
With a proprietary angled hookless design, now its possible to run up to 90psi on a hookless "clinched" platform, while allowing a tire width range of 25c~45c. Paired with our proven angled beadlock and tire channel, there is no burping air loss when running tubeless. With the hookless profile, you can run tire pressures as low as in MTB-favored tubeless, seen in cyclocross, but without the fear of damaging these 2.5mm blunt sidewalls.
The RX55 rim is aero U-shaped for high speed road application, and the 55mm tall profile also prevents mud packing on the inside of the rim for CX purposes. Finished with our OSS "Oh-So-Shiny" Gloss coating to prevent the mud sticking and looking slicker than your freshly shaved legs.
 
The RX is hand-built on the same Shogun hubs that made us the new favourite choice in durability, sporting custom 24/28h drillings, paired with the choice of Race spokes or the recommended CX-Ray's.

TAIRIN asymmetrical 55mm tall U-shape carbon composite rims with a 2.5mm offset for better spoke bracing angles.

The Shōgun hub sets. You can reach out to us if your frame-set requires an axle spacing not seen on the axle options, we can make custom axles for your need.

This wheelset comes with a set of options for spoke and nipple combinations
CX-Ray / Alloy - For light and weight conscious riders. Best performance in weight-to-strength ratio. This combination is the lightest but still provides a very solid platform for all terrain riding. The CX-Ray spoke is flat-bladed, well known for its flexibility to migrate stresses from its ends, and its aerodynamicity.
Race / Alloy - For optimal balance of strength, durability, and weight, we offer the wheels with Sapim Race 2.0-1.8-2.0mm double butted spokes. Paired with the Sapim Polyax alloy nipples. Butted spokes are more elastic in its thin section, which migrate stresses on its ends better than straight spokes. adding 52g of weight per wheel.
 
Nipples - Sapim Poylax
The new school of alloy nipples by Sapim are equivalent in durability and strength to traditional brass nipples. We find these modern alloy nipples excellent against corrosion, and less prone to deformation. Not all alloy nipples are made the same, and in this case, we concluded that the modern 7075 alloy Poylax is a better option, but we still offer brass Polyax nipples upon request; just let us know. All nipples come in black.

Freehub options
Select your drivetrain specific freehub for this wheelset. Options are for traditional Shimano HG, Sram specific XD drive, and the new Shimano Microspline 12sp. Planning to change drivetains in the future? No problem. Freehubs are swappable with minimum effort. We also sell freehubs individually.
 
Brake Fitting options
All wheelsets come with standard 6-bolt brake mount. We are sticking to this ISO standard so that we can offer conversion kits to futureproof any of the hubs across all axle spacing standards.
 
Decal Colors

Hand laced wheels
Our wheels are hand laced in Surrey, BC. and we use multiple traditional methods of spoke yielding-stress-relieving, so that when you receive your wheel, you can rest assured that there is no seat in periods, or spokes losing tension in initial rides - these which would require re-tensioning like machine and poorly built wheels.
 
Premium hand built wheels requiere dedication and takes much longer than machine built, but the accuracy and attention to detail produced by the traditional way is one of the key aspects that makes Tairin wheels superior.
